Job Title: Warehouse Team Leader
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £27.5-28k per year
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. Candidates will need to be flexible and able to adapt to shift patterns: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday- Friday with 30 minute break for lunch.
The Role:
The main purpose of the role is to assist the Warehouse management team and oversee the general running of the Warehouse and daily management of Warehouse Operatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be able to use Forklift to relocate Orders and deliveries
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are being upheld
- Respond to need for flexibility on shift patterns
- Oversee / Assist staff with larger deliveries to Goods In
- Recognise tasks, organise and plan team workloads
- Ensure that tasks are completed within time frames
- Be proactive in contact with office staff and management
- Oversee stock management and rotation
- Must be the holder of a Forklift Licence and be prepared to relocate Orders and deliveries and assist other staff, as and when required
- Must be willing to take responsibility for their own actions and that of other staff under their control
- Ensure a positive attitude is always maintained by themselves and their Team
- Must act as a role model to the whole Team
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained and report to management anything which requires actioning
- Must be reliable, responsible and flexible to adapt to different shift patterns when required
- Maintain high standards and act as Role Model for Team
- Be proactive in contact with office staff/management concerning queries relating to work Orders
- Ensure staff are motivated in the workplace
- Work with and train new members of staff through new procedures
- Contribute to weekly meetings with Management and workforce
- To positively accept the challenge to move from Operative to Team Leader and be able to set boundaries between themselves and others
- To assist with covering responsibilities of other members of the team in their absence
- To take pride in appearance as a reflection of PDC
- To take responsibility for your own health, safety and wellbeing; and of that of visitors and other employees, ensuring compliance with PDC’s Health & Safety policy, procedures and safe systems of work
- To be responsible for own behaviour and acting in a manner that avoids and discourages any form of discrimination and harassment
- To ensure full compliance with all PDC policies
- To willingly carry out any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role and PDC as a company
Required Qualifications:
- GCSE English & maths, Level C/4 or above
Required Competencies:
Required;
- Forklift Licence (Conversion training given is required)
- Keyholder responsibility, if required

- First Aider Certificate
- Level 2 Team Leader Certificate
