Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £25,000-£26,520 per year
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time.
Working Hours: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday- Friday with 30 minute break for lunch.
Purpose of the Role:
Prepares products, goods, parcels and customer’s orders safely, accurately and efficiently. Ensuring proper handling of all equipment whilst delivering high standards of cleanliness and Health & Safety by following all guidelines set out by The Company to maintain a warehouse of excellence.

The Role:
- Take instructions from our Warehouse Leadership Team on the day-to-day warehouse activities
- Taking delivery of goods and correctly documenting
- Properly uses and maintains equipment. Returns any used equipment back to designated area after use
- Correctly and safely lifts and handles products or parcels
- Ensuring all housekeeping is complete, products are refilled on a “as you go” basis in order to maintain the efficient running of the warehouse
- Check daily rota for any scheduled jobs or additional tasks to be completed efficiently and accurately
- Bring to the attention any discrepancies or damaged goods to a senior member of staff
- Keep an accurate record of picks and order carried out by completing all relevant
- paperwork when picking orders in a timely manner
- Maintain clear and concise communication with all members of staff
- Informs management of any obstructions to keeping a safe working environment
- Works efficiently as possibly and keeps to KPI’s and goals as set by management
- Takes direction from Leadership Team with any requests for the needs of the business
- Organises stock in accordance with daily orders and keeping them separated and in good rotation
- Consistent cleaning of environment and products if necessary
- Transfer of pallets and crates; forklift usage if necessary
- Ensuring traceability is kept and recorded efficiently in line with the Company process
- All use of PDC’s warehouse equipment is responsible and compliant with all Health & Safety procedures and processes
- To assist with covering responsibilities of other members of the team in their absence
- To take pride in appearance as a reflection of PDC
- To take responsibility for your own health, safety and wellbeing; and of that of visitors and other employees, ensuring compliance with PDC’s Health & Safety policy, procedures and safe systems of work.

Required Competencies:
Required;
- High attention to detail
- Ability to organise & prioritise
- Maths & English at GCSE Grade C or 4
Desired;
- Great communication skills
- Forklift/Reach truck license
- Logistics and/or warehouse experience
- Experience of driving large vans would be a bonus!!
