Fine Decor Wallcoverings Ltd is a leading Wallcoverings and Décor products supplier based in Congleton, Cheshire and part of the Brewster group whose offices are in Boston, USA.
The Role:
Working within the Supply Chain & Logistics Department the Warehouse Manager is key in ensuring that the warehouse runs smoothly. The role will provide support with any issues that might arise and pick up issues with other departments.
The Warehouse Manager will ensure that our day-to-day warehouse operation runs effectively at all times and that the warehouse achieves the objectives and KPI’s set out by the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager. You will provide on-going support to internal teams in making sure that goods are handled with care and, orders are fulfilled on time, making sure that the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising warehouse activity, including space management, productivity, shipping and change management
- Monitor the quality of the work that our warehouse operatives carry out and make sure that our products are handled correctly in line with company training and H&S guidelines
- Managing all inbound deliveries including unloading/ Loading
- Strategically managing warehouse team and holding daily briefings to allocate tasks and discuss workload
- Motivate and support all direct reports
- Managing stock control and reconciling with our SAP ERP system
- Help with following our HR processes in a fair and consistent way including investigations, grievances, disciplinary meetings, performance management and appraisals
- Producing regular reports and statistics in stock levels
- Promote H&S Culture by ensuring that employees work in a way that reduces risk. A good understanding of H&S legislation is preferable
- Lead and Drive continuous improvement including 5s
- Attend Meetings with other departments including Production and Planning
- Management of warehouse essentials, including pallets, wrapping materials, machinery supplies and all other general supplies
- Identify and organize staff training and monitor staff performance
- Manage the efficient use of temporary labor to uplift resource and increase capacity.
- Manage and write inhouse procedures and deliver a training program as appropriate to the team
- Be accountable of the performance of the warehouse KPI’s and throughput ensuring we meet customer expectation and service level agreements
- Accountable for having the correct stock in the right location at the right time to fulfil orders, to manage these daily orders in line with order intake or planned allocations
- Manage carriers and pickup times to ensure all deliveries meet customer promise and resolve non-attendance
The Candidate:
- An in-depth understanding of warehouse operations
- Experience in leading and motivating a workforce
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Understanding of working in an environment with daily fluctuating workloads
- Experience of using a warehouse management system
- Experience in implementing processes and procedures
