Job Title: Warehouse & Delivery Operative
Location: Haslingden BB4 4RS
Salary: £18,000
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
The company is a well-established wholesaler and distributor of textile fabrics. They are the largest importer / distributor of mattress ticking in the UK. They also supply mattress covers, upholstery and furnishing fabrics.
Operating from a large modern warehouse in Lancashire, they have a rich textile background and excellent technical knowledge. Responsible to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will have experience in a warehousing environment and be willing to have a hands on role in their busy day to day operation.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Picking & locating stock in the warehouse
- Manual handling / lifting
- Unloading containers
- Preparing orders for daily dispatch
- Forklift Truck Driving (Licence Dependent)
- Delivering Goods on Sprinter Van (1 week in every 3)
- Preparing Delivery notes and paperwork for deliveries / shipments
- Organising & Planning cost effective transport / deliveries
Candidate and Requirements:
Essential Criteria
- Good numeracy Skills
- Previous Warehousing Experience
- Clean Driving Licence
- Ability to work in busy environment meeting delivery deadlines
- Good Communicative Skills
- Good Personal Skills – Friendly Approach
- Health & Safety Awareness
Desirable Criteria
- Forklift Licence would be an advantage although not essential
