Job Title: Volunteer Day Centre Escort and Activity Assistant

SERVE is a charity established in 1981, registered as a charity in 1995, and based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. We support the North Northamptonshire residents as well as lead on Countywide Projects to reduce isolation amongst the Older Person’s population. About the Role:
To escort our Services Users attending the Day Centre on their minibus journey and to assist with activities at the centre.
Key elements of the role
- To assist the minibus driver in collecting the Day centre Service Users from their homes and taking them to the Centre.
- To assist people with getting into and out of the bus where needed.
- Welcome new Day Centre Service Users.
- To ensure the Service Users wear their seat belts and follow COVID guidelines.
- To assist with teas and coffees during the Day Centre Session.
- To assist in handing out meals over the lunchtime period if needed.
- To work with the Centre coordinator and other volunteers to deliver the activity sessions to the Service Users and provide assistance where needed.
About you:
- Must volunteer as part of a team
- Be reliable and trustworthy
- Must be able to relate to all Service Users
- Must have a flexible approach towards undertaking relevant tasks
- Must be sympathetic towards peoples circumstances
- Must respect confidentiality
- Adhere to current policies and procedures
- Liaise and volunteer alongside other staff allocated to work or volunteer in this area
- Report regularly to the Day Centre Coordinator and Wellbeing Manager who supervise the Day Centre
