Job Title: Visitor Services Manager

Location: Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Perry Green, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire

Salary: Circa £31,000 per annum + 12.5% Pension Contribution + Other Benefits

Job type: Permanent, Full Time

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, including alternate weekends from April to October

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a busy visitor services team in a thriving cultural environment, where your excellent customer service skills and organisational flair can flourish.

The Henry Moore Foundation, established by one of the greatest sculptors of the twentieth century, owns the largest collection of the artist’s work, which visitors can appreciate at his former home, gardens and studios in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, near Bishop’s Stortford.

The Role:

We are looking to appoint a personable, highly organised professional to plan for and deliver the seasonal visitor operation. During the visitor season (April – October) you will oversee daily operations in the visitor centre, including management of staff, ticketing, the EPOS system (Merlin) and onsite café concession. You will work closely with the Licensing & Retail Manager ensuring the gift shop is fully stocked and presentable and actively working towards achieving income targets. During the visitor season, there is a requirement to work every other weekend as part of a duty roster. A proportion of hybrid homeworking will be available in the winter months.

About you:

  • The successful candidate will have at least three years’ people management experience and strong organisational and customer service skills
  • You will enjoy working with the public and will be able to remain calm in all situations
  • Experience of working in a cultural or charitable organisation is desirable as is a keen interest in the arts
