Automotive Consulting Engineers is a small, dynamic, privately owned company that opened in 1993 and provides the United Kingdom with valuable motor vehicle inspection services.
The Person:
We are looking for a motivated upbeat motor vehicle mechanic / technician / engineer / assessor that would complement our small team of in-house engineers. Ideally this would suit someone with workshop experience in the motor industry looking to progress from a workshop environment to something office based or possibly a field-based warranty controller or vehicle assessor wanting to settle into a comfortable office environment.
The ideal candidate should have a good working knowledge of the mechanical workings of motor vehicles as a whole, have good people skills with the ability to build good rapport with field engineers and offer support to colleagues as well as being computer literate, although training will be provided on our bespoke system.
Daily duties will include making calls to and taking calls from external field engineers, dealing with verbal reports to customers, client queries, support and coverage in the event of staff shortages, entering details on our bespoke database and providing verbal dictated reports for the typing department. All in office training will be provided.
Requirements:
- Previous workshop experience is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years hands on mechanical experience is required.
- IMI registered would be advantageous.
- Full clean driving license.
- Computer literate.
- Strong communicator in English.
- Excellent people skills.
