Job Title: Vehicle Technician
Location: Doncaster, Howden DN14 7EF
Salary: £16.50 upwards depending on experience
Job type: Full time/Permanent (Monday-Friday 7am – 5pm)
We have been supplying specialist vehicles in the UK and overseas and have over 30 years’ experience in the specialist vehicle sector.
The company’s growth is due to building new tankers on new and used chassis as well as our core business as Britain’s leading supplier of pre-owned and second-hand municipal equipment, refuse vehicles, road sweepers, hook lifts, gully emptiers, jetters, gritters, vacuum tankers, vac-tankers, traffic management vehicles and all kinds of specialist municipal trucks and equipment.
The role:
Here at Hopdeals we are looking for a HGV engineer to join our expanding team, we are looking for an experienced engineer for general HGV maintenance. Fabrication skills and the ability to modify chassis would be a distinct advantage but the ability to learn and then work independently is essential.
The Candidate:
- Mechanical experience of HGV (2 years minimum)
- Fault Finding and diagnostic skills
- Class 2 HGV
- Ability to use own initiative
- Understand both hydraulics and electrics
Ideal but not essential:
- Experience of working on a range of municipal vehicles
- Previously worked for a local authority or waste company
