The Role:
To ensure effective running of the day to day Knowles Transport fleet to plan and manage effective movement of freight around the country, including providing strong planning of the operational logistics arm of the business. Communicating with the customer service team to meet customer demands and providing the best service possible.
Requirements:
Must haves:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment.
- Operator licensing awareness with up to date knowledge of compliance such as gross weights, construction and use regulations, Working Time Directive and EU Drivers hours.
- PC literate – sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Traffic management and warehouse management systems along with any other IT/ web-based systems
- Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised, self-sufficient with the ability to work to tight deadlines and on own initiative
- Be flexible in your approach to work and hours
- Excellent UK Graphical Knowledge
- Reliable approach to work and the ability to fit into different teams and environments
- Strong people management, leadership and interaction skills
- Proactive with the ability to make quick decisions, communicate with others regarding changes
- Highly organised and take responsibility for own actions and decisions
- Good memory, adaptable to change and a strong team player
- Professional in appearance, manner and punctual
- Must have own transport, full UK driving licence and ability to travel to work
KPIs:
Allocation of daily plan for all drivers.
Ensure all planned loads are updated in the systems with all relevant driver and vehicle details including all backhaul loads.
