Job Title: Transport Co-ordinator
Location: Billingshurst, RH14 9EZ – Office Based
Salary: £35,000 plus bonus
Job Type: Full Time – Permanent
BPH is an independently-owned plant hire company based in the South East. From excavators and dozers, to dumpers and telehandlers, we’ve been supplying a huge variety of heavy machinery for hire to the construction industry for almost half a century.
We’re currently looking for an experienced Transport Co-ordinator to join the busy team in our Billingshurst office.
Key Duties:
- 1st point of contact for delivery drivers
- Liaise with drivers to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Organising daily delivery runs, proactively managing the driver’s daily plans
- Liaising with drivers regarding any delivery changes or updates
- Organising Lorry inspections, maintenance, parts, roadside assistance including tyres
- Assist TM to keep drivers and vehicles compliant
- Liaise with workshops to ensure accurate loading of all lorries throughout the day
- Planning of driver training
- Monitor and pinpoint accidents and traffic hold ups that could affect deliveries
- Ensure accident reports are filled out promptly and sent to insurance broker
- FORS compliance administration
- Ad-hoc transport duties as required
Key Competencies:
- Working knowledge of transport, drivers’ hours and WTD regulations
- Geographical knowledge of south of England
- Strong and effective organisation and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- IT Literate
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure in a busy working environment
- Team player
- Previous transport planning experience essential
- ESDAL experience an advantage but not essential
- Previous FORS experience would be an advantage
