We are now looking to recruit a transport and distribution manager to join our established transport team. About the role:
We ask that all our team are able to demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility. This role will predominantly be Monday to Friday with some weekend work required. This role will require the person to be available to address any urgent matters that may arise outside of normal working hours.
Key duties:
- Working closely with our distribution and vehicle maintenance team, you will be responsible for the managing and coordination of all transport matters including the organisation of schedules and routes
- Communicating with our drivers to ensure they have the information they need to ensure a smooth, efficient and quality service to our valued customers
- Managing the transport activities of the operator license, ensuring business and driver compliance with relevant legislation; identifying and addressing driver infringements
- Ensuring drivers hours and absence are tracked and cover is in place
- Providing administrative and managerial support to the leadership team
- Excellent attention to detail, taking care and pride in the quality of your work
- Commitment to excellent food hygiene and health and safety practices
About you:
We are looking for candidates that demonstrate:
- Previous experience of working in a transport role with the ability and knowledge to run the business’s operator license
- Focus on the delivery of quality and customer-orientated service
- You will have an HGV licence and CPC qualification
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Effective and collaborative communication skills
- A good understanding of driving legislation and the UK road network
- Computer literate, strong written, verbal and problem-solving skills
- Pride in yourself, your work and our products
