Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.
The Role
This is a great time to join GamCare as we’re recruiting a Training Team Leader for our Gambling Awareness and Prevention Programme (GAP), which is an opportunity for someone who is experienced with scoping and designing training programmes that lead to real behaviour change.
GAP is a new three-year Programme, funded by GambleAware to deliver quality, consistent and relevant gambling engagement and training to organisations working with those at risk of gambling harm across England, Scotland and Wales. The Programme covers seven sectors: debt advisors, housing/homelessness staff, faith/cultural and community leaders, community pharmacists, primary care and social care workers, and occupational health providers.
The Training Team Leader is a new role designed to oversee GAP’s free Gambling Awareness Training Programme, and it involves developing the Programme’s training programme as well as supervising a small team of Trainers who will deliver the training online and face to face to a range of stakeholders.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will roll out and manage the GAP Training Programme, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse audiences across the seven sectors and supporting your team of trainers to deliver high-quality training every time.
As a qualified Trainer, and with demonstrable experience of scoping, designing and implementing training products, you will have honed your skills in training needs analysis, training design, project management, and line management, which will have given you the tools to develop and run impactful, behaviour-changing training programmes with your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee GAP’s training programme, ensuring it delivers consistently high-quality training whether face to face, online or via e-learning.
- Line manage three Trainers, supporting them to deliver the Programme’s core and bolt-on modules, adjusting delivery to cater to each audience.
- Scope out and design the Programme’s training modules
- Commission and manage the development of an e-learning module
- Coordinate the evaluation of the Programme’s training work through application of the GAP evaluation framework, ensuring the programme continues to demonstrate impact
