Job Title: Trainee Logistics Technician (Driver)
Location: Birstall, Kirklees
Salary: National Minimum Wage (£12792 – £17,076.8 per annum)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Job Purpose:
The Trainee Logistics Technician will be responsible for ensuring Essential Healthcare Customers receive a world class service in relation to the delivery and installation of a range of products including beds, hoists and mattresses into hospitals and care homes.
Must be physically fit, with good communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery and installation (Nationwide) into the NHS and Care Home sector
- Contribute to route planning
- Loading and unloading of deliveries and collections
- Provide a first class customer service at all times
- Complete daily and weekly vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety
- To facilitate all detailed responsibilities in accordance with departmental processes and procedures
- To ensure that all responsibilities are completed in line with departmental key performance indicators
- Actively participate in departmental meetings contributing ideas relating to departmental continuous improvement
Internal Duties
- Receiving deliveries, checking them against the delivery notes as well as checking the items to ensure they are correct and also not damaged
- Putting stock away in the correct locations in a timely manner
- Sales order picking and despatching
- Participating in stock checks and cycle counting exercises
- Keeping the warehouse and yard areas clean and tidy at all times
- Operating fork lift trucks
- Working with colleagues to ensure the warehouse runs efficiently
- In the absence of the Sales Operations Processor there will be a requirement to cover any applicable duties
- Assisting in any other tasks required by management to ensure the efficient operation of the business
- Ensure confidentiality on all matters relating to employees, service users/clients’ details and information obtained during the course of employment
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness at all times
- To ensure adherence to policies outlined within the company Quality System and adhere to all other company policies and procedures
- Ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times by self and colleagues
- Attend training both in-house and external as requested by the Company
Key Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have a full clean driving licence with a minimum of 2 years diving experience
- Enhanced DBS check / Disclosure Scotland may be required
- Fork truck licence desirable but not essential
- Personable and able to establish effective relationships with colleagues and suppliers
