Job Title: Trainee / Experienced Fabrication Supervisor
Location: Leicester
Salary: £28k – £34k per annum
Job type: Full Time – Permanent.

The Role/Candidate:
Supervise the fabrication department to ensure that the quality of workmanship is in line with customer specifications and company standards and that jobs are completed on time.
Main duties:
- Liaise with Production Manager and agree production schedule on daily basis
- Ensure jobs are completed on time to maximise on time deliveries (OTD)
- Liaise with all line managers to check dates and flow of work
- Assess the most appropriate process for completing each job efficiently
- Ensure Fabricators are completing job packs fully and accurately
- Ensure all staff accurately record their time on TruTops Fab (TTF)
- Review job packs and resolve issues noted by Fabricators
- Clarify any queries with customers, and take lead on sensitive customer issues
- Monitor stock levels of consumables and fittings and reorder as required in a cost effective manner
- Monitor first time accuracy and productivity KPIs on a monthly basis and look for ways to improve performance
- Monitor individual staff on accuracy and productivity on a daily basis and set targets to reduce rework costs
- Ensure all staff (especially new trainees) are properly trained
- Manage staff in terms of overtime, holiday requests, absence and training needs in line with company policies
- Monitor performance of Staff and take the lead on informal/formal performance appraisals
- Any other duties consistent with the role.
Skills and experience:
- Time / apprentice served fabrication and proficient working with Stainless/Aluminium/ Mild Steel, including Steel finishing
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, 1st and 3rd angle projection and weld symbols
- Understand production efficiency
- Good IT skills
- Previous supervisory experience desirable
- Self-motivated and focused, able to motivate others, with a flexible attitude
- Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy and focus on quality output
- Able to work on and use own initiative and problem solve
- Strong communication, team working and people skills
- Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude
