The role:
The Trainee Buyer’s role is to focus on the accurate raising and issuing of material and plant orders for all parts of the business. A focus on acquiring knowledge and an understanding of the Civil Engineering sector in general to improve how we work and the efficiencies within the team and business as a whole.
Some flexibility for Home Working
Qualification:
- 5 GCSE’s including maths and English at C (new level 5) or above
- None other specifically as departmental training will be given albeit drive and enthusiasm and being a team player is essential
- A valid driver’s licence is desirable but not essential
Experience:
- No previous buying experience is specifically required albeit experience working in an office & team environment is desirable.
- Previous experience in the Civil Engineering or Construction industry is desirable but not essential as training will be given
Skills and Knowledge:
- Keen and eager to learn and able to pick things up quickly and concisely
- Pay attention to detail
- Friendly and approachable nature
- Excellent time management
- IT Literate, as a minimum Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- A real desire to pursue a career within Purchasing and to want to make a real difference to the outcome of a project
