The core areas of the business are Asbestos Consultancy, Legionella Consultancy Services and Fire Consultancy Services, across all sectors including Construction, Local Government, MOD, Education, Social Housing, Logistics, Manufacturing and many more.
The Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who would like to train to be an Asbestos Surveyor to help grow the business and be a part of our team. This opportunity will enable the candidate to develop a long-term career in the Asbestos industry.
You will be provided training and experience through a staged development programme leading to formal BOHS P402 Proficiency Certificate in Asbestos Surveying.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
You will learn the following to obtain your P402 in Asbestos surveying certificate:
- Building inspections. To include, management and refurbishment/demolition Asbestos surveys
- Liaise with tenants and client representatives in a professional manner
- Sampling in accordance with HSG264 and company Quality Manual
- Record data accurately on company database, via a tablet device
- Accurately record sample information onto sample bags and sample labels
- Produce accurate electronic site plans, where necessary and accurately record all sample locations and material extent onto final plans
- Check plans against data on tablet and sample bags, prior to submission
- Ensure all samples taken are submitted to the laboratory for analysis, within the client specified time frame
- Ensure all locations are photographed
- Upload all survey data to the company database, at least daily
- Transportation of bulk samples to Stockport laboratory
- Quality Assurance checks of report accuracy
- Comply with procedures in accordance to quality manual and current HSE Guidance
Candidate Requirements:
- The role is site based and requires flexibility such as weekend working and out of hours
- You will need to hold a valid UK drivers’ licence
- Applicants must be 18yr old or older
