Job Title: Toolmaker
Location: Peterlee, County Durham
Salary: £15.81 per hour
Job Type: Full Time (37 hours), Permanent
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 4 pm; Friday 8am – 1pm
The Company is a world class dynamic company with a global reputation for excellence in the manufacture of large diameter anti-friction bearings. There is a position open for a Toolmaker and Storeman for their world class dynamic company with a global reputation for excellence in the manufacture of large diameter anti-friction bearings, based in Peterlee.
Main Responsibilities:
- To make available tools that require repair
- Various requirements for drilling, milling, grinding and turning operations on small tools
- To ensure that replenishment of stock is maintained and general housekeeping is encouraged in the stores
- To repair small broken tools
- To sharpen tools back to correct form
- Undertake any drilling requirements
- Undertake any milling work
- Carry out any grinding work necessary
- Carry out any turning work required
- Ensure that there is adequate supply maintained in stores
- Regularly check inventory to maintain adequate levels of stock
- Inform relevant personnel of necessary re-stocks necessary
The successful Candidate will have/ be:
- Time served as a toolmaker
- Able to produce items from drawings
- Able to build cutters, sharpen tools to correct form
- Good IT skills
- Good communication skills
- Flexible
- SAP advantageous
