Salary: £41,926 – £48,537 per annum

About the Role:

The Mulberry Bush Outreach service aims to use the charity’s core principles to strengthen the culture and leadership in organisations. This is achieved through the provision of training and support for those supporting vulnerable children, their families and communities.

This role will involve developing new areas of work for the Outreach Service, providing leadership to a small team. The work will involve building relationships with partners to develop new income-generating areas of work and delivering training and support to a range of professionals in various settings such as children’s homes, foster care, social care and criminal justice. All work should meet our charitable objectives to support those who may be troubled or traumatised.

This role will primarily be divided between our office base at Standlake, Oxfordshire, an as yet to be confirmed training venue in South-East England and our site in Toddington, Gloucestershire. Some working from home may be possible in discussion with the head of service. Depending on the location of the post-holder, the role necessitates regular travel and staying overnight. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new areas of Outreach work outside of education settings.

This role will reflect the charities ethos and three core principles –

‘Psychodynamic thinking; Collaborative working and Reflective practice’

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of specific projects, including supervising a small group of Outreach practitioners and trainers, ensuring these are delivered to a high quality, within budget and on schedule
  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with the core principles and ethos of the Mulberry Bush, specifically to support others to see behaviour as a communication of an unmet need; developing close working relationships with other professionals and the ability to reflect on ones own practice and experiences
  • Carry a personal workload, with an expectation of income generating work for roughly two/three days a week, which may include a mixture of:
    • project leadership,
    • training,
    • organisational improvement,
    • supervision
    • representing the Outreach service.
  • To work closely with other Outreach Leads to ensure consistent models of practice, training and support
  • Develop new outreach activities in line with the aims and vision of the service and the charity
  • To ensure monitoring and evaluation of work carried out to ensure high quality of work in all activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key local, regional and national organisations to promote Outreach involvement and influence in a wide range of policy and operational initiatives
  • Keep safeguarding and the safeguarding agenda at the forefront of all your work
  • Stay up to date and informed with emerging research, practice and professional bodies relating to working with vulnerable children, families and communities
  • Work as a member of the Outreach team, attending team meetings, supervisions etc. and contribute to the delivery of all Mulberry Bush Organisation services
