Salary: £43,496.02 per annum, plus staff benefits

Working Hours: 48 hours per week (averaged over a 17 week reference period)

​The Lowry is a visual and performing arts venue situated at the heart of MediaCityUK in Salford, one of the world’s most exciting culture and media destinations.

About the Role:

We currently have a rare and fantastic opportunity for a Technical Manager (with a sound bias), to facilitate the theatres operation and support the artistic ambition of the organisation. You will be required to work closely with the other Technical Managers, and the Head of Technical Services to help ensure a smooth running of the Technical Department, and provide technical support to all areas of the business as required.

You will be required to supervise staff, and to provide the technical requirements of The Lowry’s theatre spaces. This role involves supervising and carrying out all duties associated with the get in, fit up, running and get out, of a variety of productions and events taking place across our three theatre spaces, and in other indoor and outdoor spaces.

Please note that this role is ​48 hours per week (averaged over a 17 week reference period). You will be required to work on a flexible rota pattern, which includes working weekends, bank holidays and evenings where required.

​​About You:

The ideal candidate has held the position of Head of Sound or similar role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in either a producing or receiving theatre and have experience working in a customer-facing environment. You will have strong skills in all theatrical disciplines including; sound, audio visual, flying, rigging, staging, with a knowledge of theatre principles and processes.

You will be a team player with excellent communication skills, with experience of supervising others and the ability to delegate. The role requires excellent administrative and organisational skills and flexibility to meet the needs of the department.
