Newmedica Gloucester is one of the original services in the Newmedica family, having been established since August 2017. Our purpose-built eye health clinic and surgical centre, plus two additional clinical sites provide the latest eye health services to our growing patient population
We are looking for an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join the team and help us continue to deliver outstanding care for our patients.
The Role:
As a Theatre Practitioner you will support the delivery of high quality, individualised patient care, supported by our team. We’re ideally looking for someone who is fully experienced in Ophthalmology scrub and has several years’ experience, however ophthalmology experience is not essential as full training will be given.
Key Responsibilities:
- Up to date scrub and circulating skills.
- Work as a skilled member of the Theatre Team, providing high quality patient care.
- Ensure all records and documentation are compiled and maintained accurately and in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Standards for Record Keeping.
- Work within the NMC/HCPC code of practice and standards.
- Participate in training and development of clinical and other groups of staff.
- Participate in clinical audit and research projects, as required.
- Develop and maintain practice.
- Communicate effectively with patients and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Specific Competencies:
- UK professional registration.
- Post qualification experience.
- Ophthalmology experience preferable.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Good standard of computer/IT skills and ability to use/learn patient information systems.
