Job Title: Test Technician
Location: CM9 5FA, Maldon, Essex

Responsibilities:
- Perform experiments and test procedures on prototype and production devices. Follow strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
- Build prototypes and test equipment involving mechanical, refrigeration, electrical construction as well as use of PC based applications.
- Identification of problems, application of diagnostic methods to identity causes and implementation of satisfactory solutions.
- Interpretation of technical data, production of testing reports and presentations. Discussion of testing results with engineers.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Make sure lab supplies are available.
- Complete projects by assisting project team and actively taking part of group and project meetings.
- Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
The Candidate:
Training, professional experience:
- Experience of working in a laboratory and running experiments.
- Analytical, evidence driven approach.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and database systems.
- Ability to maintain a tidy, efficient laboratory environment.
- Successful application of safe systems of work.
- Lean and Design of Experiment experience are a plus.
Professional Competence/knowledge:
- Associate degree required in Materials Science/ Technology, Physics (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Knowledge of scientific method.
- Capability of troubleshooting with a hands-on approach to work and ensure delivery of the agreed targets.
- Communicate effectively, experience in providing demonstrations and writing technical reports.
- Maintain and calibrate technical equipment.
Personal skills:
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity to use technical equipment with accuracy. Attention to detail.
- Time management skills to work on several different projects at once.
- Willingness to continuously improve specific techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems.
- Ability and energy to provide necessary focus on projects.
- Team orientated and ownership to achieve organization goals.
- Outstanding communication, both verbal and written.
- Good team player, able to work cross-functionally across departments.
- Comfortable working under time constraints to meet agreed deadlines.
