Job Title: Technical Support Engineer / IT Systems Administrator

The Company is a London based hybrid cloud provider offering managed hosting, colocation and connectivity services provider. They offer secure, agile, scalable and robust hosting solutions to clients in varying sectors including SMEs, enterprise, financial services, government and the public sector.
Job Role:
The Company currently have two System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer vacancies, wage is dependent on experience, knowledge and capabilities.
The ideal candidate should be a team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills in order to deal with daily tasks. All candidates will be required to complete a brief (20 question) multiple choice test on-line to confirm their knowledge before being invited to an interview.
Please note that these positions are strictly based onsite in their datacentre. It is imperative that candidates have good spoken and written English and have the right to work in the UK.
The Technical Support Engineer role will be based on shift rotas on a 4 day on, 4 day off basis and will include day and night shifts. You will be permanently based at their data centre and will not be expected to travel as part of the role.
Role Requirements:
- Administration of the latest Windows Server environments
- Administration of Linux Servers (ideally Redhat/CentOS or Debian/Ubuntu)
- Administration of VMware, Azure Stack, OpenStack or other virtualisation Stack
- Experience setting up, configuring and maintaining common Internet services: HTTP/HTTPS (SSL), DNS, SSH, S/FTP, Samba, SMTP et cetera
- Installation and configuration of internet software: IIS, MSSQL, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, BIND, Sendmail, Postfix/Exim, PHP et cetera
- Knowledge of the Internet, its structure and basic networking, which includes experience with TCP/IP networking protocol and applications
- Ability to troubleshoot simple technical issues quickly and effectively with minimum supervision
- Knowledge of cPanel, Plesk and other hosting industry specific products such as WordPress is desirable
- Basic scripting ability with Perl & Shell/BASH is desirable

- Good communication skills
- Strong desire to learn new technologies with a focus on developing skills and training
The following skills are preferred but not necessarily required:
- VMWare, Microsoft or Redhat Certifications
- Five years industry experience
