Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £28,500 per annum

Job type: Full Time, Usually days but can be afternoons or weekends.

The role:

Provide technical support, guidance and management to the business but particularly operational functions in order to ensure that we meet and exceed our own and customer requirements: including BRCGS, Supermarket own label UK and UK food safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Work with the Production team on continuous development to improve the work carried out in the factory and the quality and safety of our products

  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with operating and QM procedures
  • Ensure all operatives are trained to the QMS procedures and supervise their practices
  • Conduct GMP audits and scheduled internal audits
  • Coordinate the process of complaint management, investigation and response.
  • Conduct QA sampling, tests and swabbing, e.g. environmental swabbing, water testing, scale checks, fridge checks, and dilution testing and taste panel / organoleptic sampling & manage retained samples
  • Support and deputise with customers visits and audits
  • Provide support to the NPD team on factory trials
  • Daily review/Audit of production paperwork to ensure compliance
  • Write factory specifications and liaise with Technical services Co-Ordinator to ensure they are managed, up to date and accurate
  • Take an active part in the HACCP team
  • Control CIC’s and ensure manual is up to date
  • Produce reports for the management meetings as required or requested by TM
  • Be the Technical department representative at relevant meeting i.e. daily production meeting
  • Support all other teams in the business by providing technical support and advice

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A degree in Food science and/or related experience
  • Food safety
  • HACCP

Knowledge and Skills Required:
