L’Arche Ipswich provides outstanding care and support to people living in a ‘shared lives’ setting, across 3 houses in Ipswich, Suffolk.
It is a community of 35+ people with and without learning disabilities, where people with learning disabilities can live independent, yet connected lives. The majority of assistants supporting these individuals live in the same community house. The Ipswich community is part of L’Arche UK which consists of 10 communities across England, Scotland and Wales. Each Community celebrates people with learning disability and fosters circles of support around them, focusing on building relationships and creating a culture of belonging.
The role:
We are looking for an experienced individual who can lead and motivate a small team of support assistants to build a sense of community, encouraging each person in the house – with or without learning disabilities – to have a voice, share their views, have choice, and feel at home.
Preferably qualified to at least NVQ/QCF Level 3 in adult social care, together with demonstrable experience of caring for and supporting adults with learning disabilities, you will also have experience of supervising and leading assistants in a care setting.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Working with the Care Coordinator, the Team Leader will ensure that we provide high quality, person-centred care and support; supporting practical, social and spiritual needs, leading the service delivery in the house in line with L’Arche’s values and standards, and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].

- Flexible working opportunities
- Pension Scheme
- Employee assistance programme
- Full training
