Job Title: Supply Chain Manager – Field Based
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Location: Field Based but must be local to Brentwood, Essex

The Role:
To manage an efficient supply chain for the company, ensuring service purchasing, and sales forecasts are aligned, to manage day-to-day relationships with the supply chain partners and to manage costs within the supply chain, ensuring that processes and systems are effective to meet their needs and deliver agreed customer service levels.
Role to be split 40/60 in favour of field based (depending on workloads and business requirements)
To ensure a business wide best practice, and knowledge sharing culture is actively embraced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rationalise the supplier network to reduce the number of suppliers, increases buying power and establish a robust set of suppliers for every post code in the UK
- Support with commercial elements of new business deals and re-negotiations
- Source, complete and process relevant supply chain paperwork for suppliers and purchasing activities
- Drive efficiencies in the volume and nature of the supply chain
- Focus on innovating their Social Value presence as a business
- Liaise with key industry contacts to ensure commerciality at all times
- Work with Account Management on innovations in the marketplace to enhance the offering
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to date forecasts are prepared with due diligence given to purchasing costs and margins
- Systems management to ensure any price chances are carried out accurately
- Plan, carry out and report on third party supplier audits including record keeping
- Maintain supplier controls register recording incidences of gifts, misconduct, potential conflicts of interest and non-compliance with governance or laws.
- Manage relationships with all partners in the supply chain, including organizing regular supply chain meetings
- Manage the budget for the supply chain activities, ensuring accurate records for cost of sale/margin analysis by product and report progress against budgets
- Report against the agreed standard KPIs
- Support the Group in initiatives on environmental strategy, quality standards, disaster/business recovery planning procedures
- Work within agreed processes and standards, health and safety and other company processes
Skills and Experience:
- Sharp negotiating skills with a proven track record of successful negotiations with suppliers
- Extensive experience of supply chain in the waste industry
- Ability to develop good working relationships and influence decisions
- Exceptional integrity and standards of business conduct
- Exceptional communication skills delivered both verbally and in writing
- Ability to identify situations that do not comply with Group governance, and relevant laws (e.g. Bribery, Environmental, etc.)
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Good problem solving and decision making skills which require independent and original thinking
- Ability to focus attention and continually drive to achieve desired outcome
- The ability to communicate with people on all levels
- Self-motivation and excellent self-motivation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent PC literacy with good knowledge of IT systems and full Microsoft Office suite
