Job Title: Study Centre Cover Supervisor
Location: Hulme, Manchester
Salary: SFCA Support Staff pay spine points 8 – 9 depending on experience (£23,618.00 – £24,442.00 per annum, £10,918.60 – £11,299.54 pro rata)
Job Type: Permanent, Part Time, Term time only
The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-organised individual to work alongside existing staff as part of the Library and Study Centres department. The department is responsible for maintaining purposeful working environments in all four of the College’s centres – the Library, Learning and Resource Centre, Directed Study Hub, and Study Centre – as well as for meeting the teaching and learning needs of staff and students through the provision of high-quality physical and digital resources. The main purpose of the role is to ensure appropriate supervision of all centres throughout the busiest time of the day, including covering staff lunches.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work positively and collaboratively as part of the Library and Study Centres team to provide cover and support across the centres as required. This will include following a rota to cover colleagues when they are away from their centres, such as for lunch breaks and meetings
- To maintain a purposeful, working ethos in the library and study centres, ensuring excellent levels of behaviour
- To assist in the preparation of physical displays, poster and digital marketing material
- To assist with the maintenance of a digital booking system for the library and study centres
- To assist with departmental and college-wide promotional events as required, e.g. Marketing events, Open Days, Taster Days and the Fresher’s Fair
- To undertake cash-handling including printing credits and fine payments

- To complete new staff induction activities as directed by the Learning & Development Manager and other College leaders

- To support the aims and objectives of the College
- To undertake any other duties the Principal or their designated alternate may reasonably direct from time to time within the context of the Loreto College contract

About you:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong behaviour management competency
- Recent evidence of working in a Supervisory capacity with students/ young people
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to provide operational IT support, technical assistance and application support to students
- Ability to work with students from entry level to level 3
- High level of literacy/communication skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
