Job Title: Student Services Officers

ETC, established in 1989, is an International College providing courses to students from all over the world, including English language training and BTEC further and higher education qualifications.
We currently have a vacancy for two Student Services Officers to work within a busy atmosphere. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic individuals with the ability to solve problems and build relationships with those around them effortlessly.
About the role
One vacancy has a Reception focus and one vacancy has an Activities focus.
As a Student Services Officer (Activities) you will be responsible for arranging and implementing junior activities programmes for individuals and groups, mainly for the peak summer season. The job involves communicating with agents, organising activities, liaising with external accommodation and travel providers and organising schedules for activities staff.
As a Student Services Officer (Reception) you will welcome students and clients, answer daily queries from students and agents, directing them to appropriate departments and prepare documents, among other admin tasks, in-keeping with GDPR requirements.
As well as key responsibilities in reception / activities, the positions also involve:
- Covering basic tasks and admin duties in other departments
- Collecting and reporting student and client feedback
- Carrying out marketing activities in quiet periods
About you:
The successful candidates will ideally have:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, agents, students and host families.
- The ability to learn quickly and multi-task
- Excellent computer skills (daily use of school database will be required)
- The ability to work well under pressure
- Great organisational skills
- Good negotiation skills
- The ability to work efficiently and to prioritise effectively especially during the busier times
- An understanding of the language school industry would be advantageous but more important is a desire and enthusiasm to build a career in this busy and well established school
Preferable experience:
- At least 2 years working as a receptionist / activities leader
Policies and procedures, including Safeguarding must be adhered to, with training provided.
Some evening and weekend work may be required during busy periods in the peak summer season.
A second language would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Successful candidates will be expected to undergo a DBS check, provide 2 appropriate references that are acceptable to ETC and complete a 6-month probationary period.
