Job Title: Community Parks and Street Cleansing
Location: Harrogate
Salary: £18,795 – £19,554 per annum
Job type: Full time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

Come and join the Council’s fantastic street cleansing service and play an important role in keeping the Harrogate district clean and well maintained. As part of the role you will be responsible for carrying out a full range of cleansing tasks and be responsible for maintaining and improving the cleanliness of an area of the district.
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will be someone who will:
- Operate in a designated area and be responsible for litter collection, litter picking, sweeping and bin emptying
- Be highly committed to providing a high quality service;
- Be able to use their own initiative to prioritise the completion of cleanliness tasks a designated area
- Be a team player with a strong personal work ethic
- Be committed to undertaking tasks in accordance with Health and Safety requirements
- Possess a full driving licence as you will be driving a HBC vehicle as part of the role
Key Requirements:
- Experienced in driving vehicles of all sizes
- A good geographical knowledge of the District
- An ability to maintain standards across a designated area
- The ability to liaise with the supervisor and sweeper driver to make best use of plant and equipment
- Capable of carrying out heavy manual work in all types of weather conditions
- Experience of operating a small mechanical sweeper would be advantageous but is not essential
