The Role
Your enthusiasm for an intelligence led approach to Council priorities will be a real asset. The impact you will have on policy and performance to support delivery of our Council Plan and borough ambitions is a real selling point of this role.
The role provides the opportunity to be part of a newly formed Hub that works across the Council on key strategic programmes including developing a borough wide plan to 2040, Levelling Up, supporting our Devolution approach and enabling us to become a Wellbeing Council. This is a role that provides a good platform upon which to build a career in local government.
The Policy and Strategy Unit will lead the Council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda. As such your broad awareness of the EDI agenda and the Public Sector Equality Duty will be a tremendous benefit.
The Candidate
You will have an aptitude for thinking strategically about the Council’s work and the way it is delivered, especially in developing briefing notes, strategies and policy and performance reports to advise on and support delivery of the Council plan. Plus your experience in the shaping and development of cross cutting policy and strategy in a local government or public sector arena will help you shine.
You will receive a salary in the rage of £34,373 to £39,571 per annum plus generous annual and flexitime leave.
