The role:
Responsible for the smooth operation of the Stores and Goods Inwards Section. Providing a complete service and supporting all of the material needs of the Engineering Department and external customers to Harrods Aviation.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Inspecting Aircraft components and booking them onto the system. i.a.w. CAA / FAA regulations and Harrods Aviation Quality Procedures. Locating stock and issuing parts to Engineering with the relevant paperwork and in accordance with the base maintenance procedures.
- Making recommendations to the Engineering Manager regarding training and procedural changes
- Maintaining audits and monitoring results
- Re-ordering to minimum stock levels for both aircraft consumables and non-aircraft sundry items. Ensuring that minimum stock holdings are maintained to support the department.
- Liaising with customers / operators to obtain any information required with regards to the timely return of items removed from the aircraft and whether they are to be returned to the customer or third-party vendor.
- Dealing with incoming non-aircraft related parts and customer property.
- Raising Repair Orders and chasing the return of items to achieve customer deadlines. Ensuring that Engineering is informed of their progress in a pro-active manner and a spares up-date board is up-dated on a daily basis.
- Out of hours purchasing required in urgent / AOG situations, responsible for raising purchase orders for both aircraft and non-aircraft components. Ensure their timely delivery to achieve customer deadlines, in a pro-active manner.
- To ensure that access to the quarantine store is restricted and controlled and that all items are correctly stored and documented in accordance with both the Company Operating Procedures and the appropriate airworthiness regulations.
- Tooling control and issue, arranging calibration of tools when necessary. Chasing the tools whilst they are of base for repair.
- Recording the transfer of tools between bases and off base to ensure that the location of any tool or piece of test equipment can be found.
- Undertake regular Stores audits ensuring that Harrods Aviation Quality Procedures are maintained, including the strict control of shelf-life items and issuing of green labels onto rotable components.
- Dealing with transportation of goods.
- Ensuring that a handover is provided to the Stores Supervisor during any periods of absence from work. This must consist of the expected duration of absence and any likely occurrences such as parts being received or despatched.
- Control of protective clothing (overalls).
- Management and control of the out of hours log to ensure that all parts and issues are accounted for.
- Other duties as required
Working Hours:
The working hours are on a Monday to Friday basis. The hours of work will be those dictated by the needs of the business as a whole and the need of your particular place of work. However, the basic hours of work will be 42 hours per week, worked as a five-day week. The normal hours of work will be: –
Monday – Thursday : 0800 to 17.00 (with ½ hour lunch break)
Friday : 08.00 to 16.30 (with ½ hour lunch break)
Out of hours purchasing assistance may be required on occasions to suit the Company needs.
