SYNLAB Laboratory Services is part of SYNLAB UK & Ireland, who provide laboratory diagnostic and training services to a diverse range of sectors including healthcare and wellness, sport, travel, corporates and insurers, logistics and family law.
Our site in Abergavenny has two in-house laboratories, offering a wide range of pathology tests including occupational health and wellness tests, as well as workplace drug and alcohol testing. In addition to our laboratories providing UKAS accredited ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189 testing, we are one of only a few providers offering an end-to-end in-house collection and laboratory service.
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven UK Sales & Business Development Manager to join our team at Abergavenny. This is a full-time and permanent position, offering the flexibility of home-based working. In this role, you would lead, develop and manage the sales team, optimising individual performance towards agreed goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day activities and sales performance of the Sales team
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders of Key Accounts and lever increased business opportunities
- Develop a Sales and Business Development strategy and deliver them to the market effectively
- Develop and enhance the service offering alongside Marketing, Customer Services and laboratories/Services team
- Develop an internal sales strategy/operational plan and manage the client sales team once appointed
- Always strive to achieve the sales targets and profit targets
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in Sales across related markets
- Excellent sales, communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a team
- Data and financial information analysis skills.
- Experience of managing a team remotely
- Demonstrated planning and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and prepared for frequent travel
Desirable (not essential):
- Laboratory diagnostics Sales experience, preferably Toxicology or Pathology
- Experience of CRM software systems
