Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: St Johns Wood, London

Salary: £30,000.

Job type: Permanent – Shifts are 11am – 4pm or 4pm – 11pm. 7 shifts over 5 days. Flexible working days if needed.

An experienced, hands on, sous chef required for privately owned long standing iconic North London brasserie Café Med specialising in grills and Mediterranean cooking.

The Role:

  • Preparing and cooking high quality dishes.
  • Running kitchen when Head Chef is not on duty.
  • Assisting with the management & maintenance of health and safety & food hygiene practices.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control.
  • Keeping section and equipment clean and tidy.
  • Managing food purchasing and rotation.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • A real passion for cooking high quality dishes.
  • Experience of food safety and hygiene laws, health and safety and allergen regulations.
  • Experience of using kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Flexible, positive and adaptable team player.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Keenness to learn and develop your skills.

Extra Information:

We offer staff meals when on shift, 5.6 weeks holiday per year, friendly working environment.

Once a month entitled to visit a sister restaurant to eat for free.
