Purpose of the Role:
You will support the origination, solution configuration and delivery of new product development. You will be a lead member of the technical team, responsible for ensuring the company’s products remain at the forefront of the industry, through continual innovation and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating intelligent IoT (Internet of Things) solutions for customers,
- Deliver solutions to fulfil the commercial vision of the business
- Responsible for software architecture, development and design, to create their technical roadmap and determine standardisation for IoT products
- Translating requirements gathered from the business into the required architecture for new smart technologies.
- Ensure that any code written or reviewed is readable and well documented in order to ensure best coding practices.
- Technical lead for in-house employees and 3rd party software developers to ensure consistent standards and processes
- Working closely with all relevant departments, including Product, R&D, IT to coordinate and understand requirements for new product development.
- Work to industry best practice standards in solution design, and test those standards as appropriate
Skills and Experience:
- Proven Solution Architecture experience within an IoT / Smart Technology focused environment.
- Experience of being accountable for architectural decisions and provide justification for decisions taken
- Innovate and advocate the use of latest technologies and technical trends with a focus on performance, compatibility and security
- Expertise in the build of data and analytics capability on a Cloud Platform to create a ‘platform as a service’.
- Work with IT teams to ensure suitable provision of infrastructure, connectivity and security to enable developments to run effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to ‘think outside the box’ to come up with pragmatic solutions
- Architecture experience as well as hands on coding experience, you must be able to understand HLD and LLD
- Set out and maintain the future platform roadmap taking into account both business and technical requirements. Understand how technology trends will impact upon the platform and develop appropriate plans in response.
- Develop products in conjunction with the customer
- Able to work in both hosting and operations
- Experience within smart heating or related home products is highly advantageous.
- Managing third party service provider deliverables for design coding projects across web and apps including on-going maintenance.
- Experience leading design and development of apps with a focus on customer experience.
- Solution planning leveraging available Application Services, System Integration and Application Outsourcing assets and capabilities majoring in IoT and M2M technology
- Managing stakeholders to agree solutions and develop business terms and conditions
The following would be beneficial but is not essential:
- Experience of coding web and apps highly desirable
- IoT Expert -worked for 5+ years in the IoT hardware, software, or related fields.
- 5+ years in systems-engineering being in front of customers and Partners every day.
- Experience in both start-ups and large enterprise organizations
- Knowledge of wireless technologies and protocols such as 802.11, 802.15.4., Zigbee, LoRaWAN, GSM
