Microtech houses over 75 staff including a full-time fully staffed service desk with field engineers based throughout Scotland and the UK.
In 2021 Microtech Group undertook a brand re-alignment, condensing many of their established sectors into two significant divisions, streamlining the brand and simplifying the customer experience. This included the onboarding of a new Commercial Director and Sales Director, along with the launch of a brand-new website.
The Role:
The Software Developer is part of an agile development team, that builds and works on software systems on top of the Microsoft .NET development stack. The Software Developer is involved in all areas of development from design to development to testing.
The Software Developer will perform related work as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with an agile team to develop, test, and maintain desktop and server based business applications for all development projects and client deliveries
- Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
- Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
- Participate in reviews of solutions designs and related code
- Package and support deployment of developed solutions and releases
- Working with teammates in the migration of older applications to newer technologies
- Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications
- Analysing and resolving technical and application problems
- Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering software solutions on-time and on-budget
- Providing support to customers
Experience:
- Experience in web development using ASP.Net Core, C#, Razor and Entity Framework
- Solid understanding of object orientated programming concepts
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Azure hosting services
- Mobile App development using Xamarin
- Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
- Familiarity with version control concepts
- Knowledge pf agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of unit testing theory
- Strong desire to learn
