Job Title: Social Worker – Enhanced Social Care Support for LD & Autism (Out-Reach)
Salary: £36,101 to £48,622 per annum

This position is open to Experienced Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW). The starting salary for a NQSW is £33,885 per annum, rising to £36,101 per annum upon successful completion of the ASYE programme.

About the Role
This role will work alongside Adults with a complexity of needs related to their Learning Disability/Autism, Mental or Physical Health or a combination of all the above. The successful candidate will have a real interest in relationship-based social work, with a focus on building independence through a positive approach to risk and the strengths-based model.
You will work closely with adults placed in supported living accommodation and residential care. Working with the adults, alongside providers family members and advocates to undertake Care Act reviews with a focus on helping to develop independence and progression.
We are looking for a social worker who would like the opportunity to work in a team where the focus is on relationship-based work and building independence through a positive approach to risk and the strengths-based model; supporting adults through case management and completing supported living scheme reviews. This role requires close partnership working with a range of partners, including health and the Court of Protection.
This role sits within our Countywide team supporting adults living within all areas of Essex and out of county. The role will be community and home based, with the flexibility of being based from any of our Essex locations for administrative purposes. Countywide travel is required and there will be an expectation to work from ECC and health buildings across Essex as needed.
About You
You should be a qualified social worker with a current Social Work England registration with at least 1 year’s post qualifying social work experience, evidence of continuing professional development, and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
There is a need for attention to detail and knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty and Court of Protection procedures. The postholder will be confident in person-centred and positive risk-taking approaches.
This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car – or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means – is essential.
As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service.
