Job Title: Ship Planner and Alliance Coordinator

Salary: £38,000 to £43,000 plus benefits

OOCL, a leading global container shipping and logistics provider is recruiting for a Ship Planner and Alliance Coordinator to join their team.
The Role:
The role based in Ipswich will involve managing the stowage of vessels including Dangerous Goods and oversized cargoes, scheduling of the vessel and other daily tasks on OOCL’s varied size ships including Ultra Large Container Ships. The successful candidate will also be involved in the management of Alliances that OOCL is members of, with regular communication with alliance partners in Europe and OOCL HQ in Hong Kong.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following qualities:
- Have seafarer or officer experience on a container vessel.
- Be computer literate and able to use a variety of office programs.
- Be organised and able to prioritise workload to fit with the scheduling
- Have communication skills and be able to interact verbally with people across the world where English is not their first language.
- Although not essential the ability to speak Mandarin and/ or Cantonese would be desirable
