Job Title: Shift Maintenance Technician

Location: High Post, Salisbury

Salary: £38,000 per annum (inc. shift working) increasing on completion of relevant industry standard qualifications

About the role:

The Shift Maintenance Technician will have the opportunity to undertake significant training and the ability to contribute to making a difference as we go through our site transformation plan. You will work with the maintenance team to achieve required goals, targets and output whilst developing your knowledge base to enable support with proactive and reactive maintenance tasks on site. As part of this role, you will develop mechanical and electrical skills and complete required external and internal training in order to fulfil maintenance requirements to ensure continuity of production operations.

Responsibilities of the role will include, but not limited to:

  • Continue to develop skills gaps to enable full multi skilled maintenance tasks.
  • Complete required internal training for mechanical and electrical planned maintenance tasks and assist with the planned maintenance for site.
  • Plan and organise follow up work derived from planned maintenance checks.
  • Ensure work is recorded and handed over to the team leader to ensure effective communication between shifts.
  • Assist maintenance team with electrical, mechanical and plant breakdowns.
  • Develop understanding of lean processes to assist with improvements to existing and new equipment.
  • Support with statutory inspection programmes e.g. pressure vessels.
  • To ensure their own health, safety and welfare and the safety of all other persons who may be affected by their activities.
  • Aware of the company requirements for the protection of the environment in their workplace and any areas that may be affected by their activities, to follow company procedures and participate in making environmental improvements.

Person Specification:

  • Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain basic security level clearance.
  • Time Served Apprenticeship (ONC, NVQ or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical discipline or relevant transferable skills from working in a maintenance role ideally in an industrial setting, but other environments will be considered.
  • Demonstrate experience in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance.
  • Proven experience working to a maintenance plan.
  • Understanding of basic machinery safety
  • Must not be colour blind
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Proficient in MS Office Demonstrated

This role will be worked over a 42 hour working week* and will include the requirement for 24/7 maintenance team cover for completion of works. *DuPont Shift System
