Job Title: Sewing Machinist
Location: Mitcham, South London
Salary: £12-£14 per hour
Working hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
The Company:
- This Dress making company are one of the leading manufactures of dance costumes and evening wear in the UK.
- They first started making dresses for their own dance partners but in short time, their monumental designs gathered attention from other professional dancers.
- They are passionate about their image on the dancefloor.
- They provide excellent communication with their clients in order to create the best possible image for their dancing and body type.
The role:
- They are looking to expand their team of professional sewing machinists and dressmakers.
- The role will consist of designing dance costumes for the world’s top dancers.
- Full training in dance costumes will be given to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- The successful candidate must be self-driven to provide the finest dance costumes for clients.
- This can consist of working overtime in high season as the demand is high.
The Candidate:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the sewing industry. Previous experience in dance wear is not necessary.
- The candidate must be enthusiastic and driven. Fluency in English is also required.
- Must be numerate, have self-discipline and be able to work safely on their own initiative sometimes without supervision and be able to learn from their mistakes.
- It is important that the applicant is able to work within a small team and have good communications skills.
