Job Role:
The Company is recruiting for an experienced senior civil/structural engineer with seismic design knowledge to be based in Kent.
The company specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of integrated, future-proofed mezzanine flooring solutions for major logistics and manufacturing centres in Europe. Their services maximise space and help optimise storage, warehousing & distribution and production processes for today’s evolving businesses.
The focus of this role will be on the development of the Company’s products to suit client specification, along with the capability to manage large-scale projects, both here in the UK and abroad. Focus of the Role:
- Structural analysis and design of buildings and technical delivery of projects with specific focus on those within seismic areas
- Work closely with the sales team to assist in the completion of tenders for large scale projects
- Provide calculation packages for clients
- Liaise with draughts persons and details regarding steel/connection design
- Completion of site surveys to discuss designs and/or solutions with clients
- Generate structural reports and structural load assessments
- Use computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology
- Providing regular updates to Director in relation to the planning, design and supervision of projects
- Supervision of junior engineers, providing technical advice and support as needed
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor of Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status
- At least 10 years’ experience in a standard civil/structural engineering position, ideally within the mezzanine flooring or steelworks industries
- Experience and knowledge of seismic design is essential
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience of using design software tools such as Tekla Structural Designer, Masterseries, Dlubal would be preferable
- Knowledge of British and Euro Codes essential
- Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
This role will require the successful candidate to work on projects both within the UK and Europe, so must be willing to travel when required.
