What does a Senior Specialist Educational Psychologist do at Hillingdon?
Our Senior Education Psychologist plays a key role in supporting the Principal EP, whilst having oversight of the Early Years provision within the team. Focused on delivering better outcomes for children and families, the Senior EP is responsible for establishing and ensuring agreed plans and performance targets are met across the service – promoting the principles of independence and personalisation.
As an integral part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children, young people, and their families across the borough. As an experienced practitioner within Early Years, the Senior EP works collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, (colleagues, service users, voluntary agencies, schools/ colleges, health, and other external agencies, etc.) to provide specialist support and advice – enabling positive outcomes for early years children.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide specialist services for children with early years, their families, and providers, delivering a service using a range of tools and methodologies including ‘Consultation Framework’.
- Manage and be responsible for a reduced caseload focused on Early Careers
- Lead on relevant projects to improve customer experience, whilst ensuring a culture of ‘putting residents’ first is maintained.
About you:
We’re looking for an experienced Education Psychologist with specialist knowledge related to early years provision, who has a solid understanding of children and young people’s needs, evidencing examples of effective service delivery models.
Displaying a positive ‘can do’ approach, you’ll be able to demonstrate your commitment to improving work practices and processes, and take responsibility of delivering results, whilst adapting to the changing demands across the service.
To be considered for the role you must detail the following within your application:
- British Psychological Society accreditation, or Doctorate professional qualification as an Educational Psychologist
- Evidence of post qualifying experience at a Senior level
- Experience of planning and providing services to children and young people in educational care settings, and support of their parents and carers
- Knowledge of the Children & Families Act, Equalities Act, SEND Code of Practice.
