Job Title: Senior or Principal Air Quality Consultant (U.K.)

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience

The firm is seeking to recruit a Senior or Principal Air Quality Consultant to join their growing team, with the possibility of working from any of their U.K. offices (Glasgow is preferred).
You will primarily work from home in the short term, unless this is unavailable to you. You will be provided with all IT equipment and software/services require to facilitate your efficient home working. Long term arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate – they’re a flexible employer and are willing to consider any arrangement that is desirable to you.
Job Duties:
- Deliver air quality consultancy projects unassisted
- Assist the firm with business development
- Prepare written technical reports to a high standard
- Liaise with clients, local authorities and regulators
- Prepare proposals and define project budgets
- Undertake project administration and management
The Candidate:
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will possess an Honours or Master’s Degree in an Engineering, Science or Environmental discipline (or similar)
- They will also have a full U.K. driving licence with a clean driver record
- Professional chartership(s) and membership of the IAQM would be viewed favourably
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience with regards to one or more of the following areas/disciplines, preferably in a consultancy role:
- Completion of air quality assessments for a range of projects in support of industrial (permitting) and planning.
- Environmental permitting (e.g. Industrial Emissions Directive, via PPC/EPR/IPC) and associated regulator liaison (e.g. SEPA, EA, NIEA, EPA).
- Environmental planning and associated regulator liaison (e.g. Local Authorities).
- Knowledge of UK air quality legislation and policy.
- Experience with dispersion modelling software, preferably ADMS and ADMS Roads.
- Specifying air pollution control strategies/technologies with reference to the principles of Best Available Techniques (BAT).
- Business development, business planning and mentoring of junior staff in relation to the above.
Experience in other environmental disciplines, particularly environmental noise, would be viewed favourably. The opportunity to upskill will be offered to the successful candidate.
