Job Title: Senior IT Manager

Purpose Of Job:
To manage all information technology, computer systems, infrastructure, hardware, and software on a day-to-day operational basis across both the Oldham and Sheffield sites. To champion best practices and continuous improvement in terms of security and service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees all activities of the IT department. They determine the company’s current and future IT needs and implement systems to meet requirements
- Lead the IT department’s infrastructure, business and communication systems, and software to ensure smooth functioning of all systems and networks
- Manage and mentor the IT team, conducting appraisals and performance reviews
- Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives aligned with organisational objectives
- Establish IT policies, best practice guides, and systems of working for the organisation
- Oversee all IT projects, updates, upgrades, and continuous improvements
- Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity protocols, including managing security breaches.
- Manage and deliver internal IT training, including cybersecurity awareness including maintaining Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus requirements, certifications, and renewals
- Collaborate with departments to understand their needs and provide suitable IT solutions
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, coordinating with vendors for support
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to continually improve IT systems and services
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems management, computer networks, or similar field
- Strong understanding of server management, virtualization, and cloud computing platforms
- Proven experience with IT infrastructure components, including databases, storage solutions, and backup systems
- Ability to translate business requirements into efficient IT solutions
- Proficiency in cybersecurity practices, including threat detection, prevention, and incident response
- Professional work ethic with a client-driven focus and attention to detail
- Familiarity with IT project management methodologies and tools
- Capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organisational objectives
- Strategic thinking to anticipate future IT needs and plan accordingly
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to translate technical issues and concepts into business language
