The Christie Pathology Partnership is a pioneer in delivering responsive, high-quality pathology diagnostics to The Christie and other healthcare providers nationally and regionally. As Europe’s largest single-site specialist cancer centre, The Christie also boasts international leadership in research. Our laboratories are at the forefront of supporting The Christie’s early-phase clinical trials, with approximately 200 trials active at any given time.
We seek a Senior HR Advisor for a 9-month Fixed Term Contract. In this pivotal role, you will provide professional HR services to stakeholders, including managers, partners, and staff. You will focus on maintaining exceptional service standards while building and nurturing productive relationships. Collaborating closely with the Senior Management Team, Operational Managers, HR colleagues, and employee representatives, you’ll help shape the future of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Services Delivery: Collaborate with and support the HR Manager in representing the HR department internally and externally. Provide expert guidance and support for HR services, particularly in the absence of the HR Manager.
- Project Management: Assist the HR Manager in HR projects and initiatives, including migrating employee data to a new HR Information System platform.
- Change Management: Play a key role in managing organizational change, helping to guide employees and managers through transitions.
- Employee Relations Engagement: Contribute to fostering a positive employee relations environment by providing advice and guidance on employment law, policies, and best practices.
- HR Administration and Recruitment: Support various HR administrative tasks and contribute to recruitment efforts.
About you:
Skills and Experience
- CIPD Membership: Hold graduate membership of the CIPD or higher.
- Educational Background: Possess a degree-level education or equivalent.
- HR Experience: Bring significant experience in an HR Advisor role or equivalent, with substantial experience in employee relations and industrial relations.
- Legal Acumen: Demonstrate a deep understanding of employment law, offering advice to managers on its application.
- Proactivity: Have the ability to hit the ground running and work autonomously.
- Relationship Building: Build strong, positive relationships with managers, colleagues, and Trade Union representatives.
- Communication Skills: Convey ideas and advice effectively, clearly, and persuasively.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NHS Environment: Previous experience in an employee relations role within an NHS environment.
- Agenda for Change: Familiarity with Agenda for Change terms and conditions of employment.
- Union Experience: Experience in a unionized working environment.
- Formal Hearings: Experience advising managers during disciplinary and other formal hearings
