Main Purpose of the Role:
The Senior HR Advisor will be responsible for providing general advice and guidance to employees & managers on all day-today HR operational matters. The Senior HR Advisor will deliver a professional HR service whilst handling employee relation cases and providing sound advice on policy matters associated with the full HR life cycle.
The Senior HR Advisor will be expected to demonstrate a ‘hands-on’ approach to HR transactional support to the organisation whilst working collaboratively with your peers within the HR function to provide outstanding People support to the organisation.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Supporting and leading employee relations cases and documentation to support the case including management of disciplinary or grievance issues raised by employees, escalating to the HOHR where necessary
- Advising managers on recruitment and selection methods that are the preferred recruiting strategies of HR PID UK and supporting with the recruitment activity
- Creating and evolving HR standards across all entities, including contractual documentation, conditions of employment and offer letters using company templates (once approval being sought)
- Providing advice and playing a part in employee performance & appraisal reviews
- Identifying talent & recommend relevant employee development of L&D
- Collaborating with the wider HR team on issues related to workplace relations and addressing performance management issues
- Providing advice, coaching support and assistance on policies, procedures, and legislation
- Gathering HR data for the Head of HR in a timely manner
- Providing support on all elements of our people strategy
Key Deliverables:
- Complying with Data Protection and General Data Protections Regulations (GDPR) and ensure the security of employee information in accordance with legislation and best practice
- Responding to Compliance matters in line with HR procedures and ensure that all operational aspects of compliance reporting are addressed and or escalated appropriately
- Providing consistent and accurate HR guidance, support to managers and employees in line with policy, practice, and legislation under the direction of the Head of HR PID UK
- Supporting HR business transformation activities within the Business
- Monitor and report absence data to the Head of HR PID UK monthly along with other key metrics Management of HR files/records in line with compliance and audit purposes
- Working closely with H & S, IT and Payroll to ensure all employees work in an environment that drives a high-performance culture in a compliant, safe, data and people centric manner
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 (or QBE)
Essential Experience:
- Experience of using Microsoft packages word email and excel
Essential Key Skills:
- Employee relations expertise of ER cases
- HR systems and process knowledge, together with an understanding of current employment law
- Knowledge of the application of employment policies and practices, including compliance requirements for HR
- Highly developed communication skills and effective and persuasive people skills
- Familiarity with the structures, processes and tasks undertaken across an Operational HR service
- Experience of engaging with external suppliers for HR advisory services and systems.
- Ability to quickly build and maintain key relationships with all stakeholders
- Supporting colleagues through change whilst delivering under pressure
- Ability to always maintain confidentially
- Attention to detail
- Diligent with commercial awareness
