Allen Gordon LLP is an engineering consulting firm providing innovative solutions in civil and structural engineering to a wide variety of public and private sector clients across Scotland. Tracing its roots back to 1890, the company operates out of offices in Perth, Stirling and Inverness and currently has 30 staff operating over these 3 locations.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer or Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team in Inverness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is looking to advance their career. It is envisaged that you would be focused on successfully delivering projects and leading a team of engineers whilst playing a crucial role in shaping the future of our projects and expanding our footprint throughout Scotland.
Our Inverness office is currently comprised of 9 staff with the goal to increase this off the back of sustained growth. We work with a culture of respect and trust whilst relying on each other to ensure our client receive the thorough service they expect.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure projects are executed with the highest level of quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with clients to deliver project goals and objectives.
- Coordinate team activities, delegate tasks, and ensure project schedules are met whilst helping to mentor and develop junior staff.
Business Development
- Assist in identifying business opportunities and participate in proposal development.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the Inverness office by actively engaging in marketing and networking activities.
Technical Excellence
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Ensure that all engineering designs and solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with the technical team to develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE or working towards imminently sitting their Professional Review.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering with experience of project leadership and supervision.
- Experience in the water or structural sector within Scotland is beneficial but all areas of expertise will be considered.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
