We are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Climate Change Practice Area. In this role, you will work with clients to shape their strategic approach to climate action, advising on emerging best practice in GHG footprint calculations, target-setting and climate transition planning. The role will support the ongoing expansion of the practice area, leading some projects, and acting as part of a delivery team on others. It will also involve actively contributing to business development efforts, building on 3Keel’s existing portfolio of clients which include UK retailers, major FMCG brands, and smaller businesses, many from the B Corp community.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical elements of GHG emissions accounting and reporting, with experience designing and running climate projects for clients. You will take pride in delivering consistently high quality, evidence-based work and becoming a trusted advisor to clients. You will also have the ability and desire to learn quickly, think creatively and transfer existing knowledge to new situations.
The important stuff (essential requirements):
- Self-starter and driven;
- A strong technical and policy/regulatory understanding of the corporate climate landscape;
- Technically-minded with experience of working with data, with proven experience presenting complex analyses and data thoughtfully and effectively;
- Passion for finding solutions to complex sustainability problems;
- Good understanding of climate accounting, reporting and target-setting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi, TCFD);
- Clear and engaging writing style, excellent verbal communication and the ability to present complex information in a client-friendly way;
- Proven influencing and negotiating skills to ensure that projects deliver the outcomes expected by clients and other key stakeholders;
- Business development and proposal-writing experience, with successful track record in winning new work;
- Rapid research and distillation of complex topics;
- Proficiency in project management;
- Proficiency in using Excel;
- Organised and systematic approach to work.
- Academic background to degree or master’s level in a relevant subject area;
Other stuff (desirable skills):
- Data collection, cleaning and management skills. Experience of data analytics, visualisation and practical business intelligence software apps (e.g., intermediate to advanced MS Excel, MS PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik);
- Knowledge of FMCG supply chains, food systems, agriculture and other land-based production systems;
- Experience of planning and running effective multi-stakeholder workshops and meetings;
- Experience of managing client relationships;
- ine management experience.
