Tens of millions of pounds have been secured to transform Walsall and we are transforming our communications and marketing team to tell the story of our people, our place and our Council.
We have big ambitions to build on our proud industrial heritage and build a borough fit for the future.
We need story tellers who will work closely with the local, regional and national media and create compelling marketing and social media content.
We are looking for two creative candidates who are full of ideas and have a passion for communications.
One of the successful candidates will work on our Press and Social Media Desk. The other will promote our highly successful Holiday and Activity Food programme for children and young people aged from 5 to 15.
The candidates:
We’re looking for experienced communication professionals with excellent writing skills. We need candidates with a flair for social media and content creation.
Creative thinking will be at the heart of these roles, originating ideas to tell the Council’s story. You will be creating content for the media, social media, marketing campaigns, for the Council’s website and for staff engagement.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering campaigns and communications on behalf of the council and our services
- Creating multimedia content to communicate key messages raising awareness of Walsall and of Walsall Council
- Handling media enquiries effectively in a busy, newsroom-type environment
- The development and delivery of media and social media campaigns
- Planning and delivering PR and marketing events
