Job Title: Senior Auditor
Location: Matlock, Derbyshire
Salary: £27,914 – £30,980 per annum
Job type: Full time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

Are you ready for a new challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to further your career by joining a professional, internal audit team which provides the full range of audit services to the County Council and its Executive Directors and Directors.
They are looking for someone with experience of internal audit or other relevant experience in financial management, or a role involving regulatory or compliance work and problem solving in a business environment. Practical audit experience within a public sector organisation would be an advantage.
You should be able to manage your own time, develop good working relationships with client Departments and be able to communicate effectively. You should also be confident, able to identify solutions and be willing to question and challenge established practices. You will want to gain experience and develop your career whilst making a difference to the work of local government in Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities:
The Audit Services Unit has a high profile within the Council and its role gives Audit staff a unique opportunity to understand the wide ranging services provided to Derbyshire residents and make recommendations to improve their delivery. You will provide high quality, independent audit and assurance services across the range of activities involving the Council. You will be involved in a variety of reviews including:
- Financial and operational systems
- Appraisal of IT systems controls and compliance with relevant legislation
- Project work aligned to the Council’s significant risks
- Investigations
The Candidate:
Applicants should hold a relevant qualification, be able to demonstrate a record of achievement, and able to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team delivering work to a high standard within assigned budgets across the full spectrum of services.
