Job Title: Science Teacher / Tutor

Salary: £22,560 to £34,885 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.

On Track Education in Wisbech is a small not for profit independent special school for pupils aged 11 to 18 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. The school opened 15 years ago and pupils are taught in very small groups, or 1:1, with a high staff ratio. In the last Ofsted inspection (December 2018) our school was judged as ‘Good’ in all categories.
We support our pupils to fulfil their potential by giving them unconditional support, providing them with good quality teaching and empowering them to effectively manage their own behaviour.
The school offers excellent facilities for academic, artistic, vocational and outdoor learning. The school delivers a motivational and progressive curriculum underpinned by the therapeutic principles of THRIVE®.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake teaching responsibility for science and ensure all pupils develop their knowledge and skills and make good progress in their learning
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver a sequenced curriculum which builds knowledge and skills towards agreed end points
- Effectively monitor the progress of each pupil, checking their understanding systematically and effectively, putting in place clearly directed and timely interventions
Personal Attributes:
- Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) is preferable but consideration will be given to education professionals with other teaching qualifications.
- Experience of working with young people in an SEN environment.
- Passionate about the social and emotional wellbeing of children
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils
