Job Title: Sales & Marketing Manager

Location: Curdridge, Southampton

Salary: circa £40,000 – £50000

Job type: Full Time Permanent, Monday to Friday – 40 Hours a week 8.30am to 5pm

Established for over 50 years ago, the Company has built an unrivalled reputation for quality and service, having built over 20,000 gardens. We are currently looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to join our friendly team just outside of Botley, Hampshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and creative individual to play an integral role in creating a new marketing strategy & brand awareness and helping to drive sales at Hambrooks.

The Role:

The Sales & Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of both the sales strategy and the marketing plan. These will include maximising our sales potential, marketing communications, social media activity, and in-store promotion

Key Tasks:

  • Plan and direct day-to-day operation of the sales & marketing functions across all of our divisions to ensure maximum revenue & profitability and provide both existing and new customers the highest level of sales service.
  • Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently for the most effective strategies.
  • Develop and implement a new marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and sales
  • Develop and implement a new brand image
  • Develop strategic relationship with media partners to promote positive output from company group activity
  • Write short articles and press releases for various functions of the business for milestones and achievements
  • Develop a USP, brand messaging and marketing material as and when required
  • Engage and interact with local community
  • Support the General Manager with PR communications
  • Provide marketing reports as required
  • Delivering marketing outputs on time and on budget, reporting regular updates to the Managing Director.
  • Monitoring ongoing campaign spend against budget
  • Manage external companies providing marketing services such as graphic design
  • Manage company profile in the press
  • Write press releases as and when required
  • Maintain a list of advertising contacts and negotiate rates on a regular basis.
  • Report monthly on performance to the Managing Director and General Manager.

The key results areas are:

  • Achieving and exceeding sales revenue budgets.
  • Budget management.
  • Improved customer satisfaction, indicated by an increase in the average order value, transaction numbers and customer retention
  • Increase in the number of new customers
  • Increased awareness of the Hambrook brand within the local region
  • Competitor analysis.

About you:

  • Ideally educated to CIM level
  • 5 years’ experience of marketing within a commercial organisation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Ability to think both strategically and commercially with a good understanding of overall business dynamics
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications
